Yawanawa Rapé - Kanarô
Yawanawa Kanarô Rapé is a unique blend inspired by one of the most beautiful and beloved saité (story-telling songs) of the Yawanawa tribe, which tells of "saudade," a deep emotional state of longing for something or someone that is gone. Yawanawa Kanarô follows the traditional Yawanawa recipe of Tsunu ashes and natural tobacco. Kanarô, the yellow Arara, is known as the messenger bird from the astral plane.
This Rapé is made by Shaneihu, the grandson of the famous Pajé Yawa and son of Chief Biraci. Shaneihu was the last to undergo the one-year Muka initiation diet with his grandfather before he passed away. The Muka diet is a serious spiritual journey that lends credibility to anyone who completes it. Shaneihu is also an accomplished musician who recorded and produced the amazing CD Kanarô, which is available on Spotify.
Kanarô
A member of the Yawanawa tribe explains that their language is complex, with some words not directly translatable. The same is true for their songs. Kanarô is one such song that carries sentimental meaning, evoking memories of relatives or loved ones and the longing for them. It is a song that brings forth the ancient melodies of their civilization.
Chief Biraci of the Yawanawa tribe describes Kanarô as the yellow macaw, the only bird that crossed the immense river during a time when animals could speak. It carried messages from people who were unable to cross the river. Today, Kanarô is a special song that symbolizes great joy or longing.
