Kuripe - Marajá Mariri
Discover the remarkable Marajá Mariri Kuripe, crafted from a rare and sturdy palm tree material known as Marajá. Though often mistaken for black bamboo, Marajá boasts a hard exterior full of spines, making it challenging to find in the forest. This unique material offers more pressure during application and is highly durable compared to traditional bamboo.
Our limited-edition Marajá Mariri Kuripe features intricate tribal resin designs and is finished off with a small slice of caapi vine, also called mariri by some adepts. As a handcrafted product, slight variations may occur from batch to batch, adding to its authentic charm.
These exquisite Kuripes are created by expert artisans at the Tetê Pawã arts and crafts studio, located in the remote upper Juruá region of Marechal Thaumaturgo municipality in the Amazon. We work with these skilled artisans to provide you with state-of-the-art handicrafts and exceptional Kuntanawa Rapés, ensuring the finest quality and dedication in every product.
